Our Story.
Archive Knitwear is a Boston-based, woman owned and operated small business creating hand-crafted knitwear to keep you cozy year after year — made with sustainably sourced fibers and a deep love for the craft.
We bring luxurious handmade knitwear to modern women — our designs are rooted in a timeless wardrobe, where minimalism is mixed with classic silhouettes, refined details, tonal hues, and cozy textures. We focus on creating small batches of knitwear that are designed in the United States and responsibly handmade by a team of artisan knitters who share the same values as us, to slow down the fashion cycle, celebrate handmade craftsmanship, and invest in ethical production practices.
A lifelong love
of craft.
Deanna started Archive Knitwear as so many small handmade businesses begin — as a creative outlet. After learning to knit from her mom at the age of 12, the skill she picked up just for fun grew into a deep love for knitting.
What started as a hobby eventually found a home on Etsy, and that passion became a small business. Deanna began designing and handcrafting timeless pieces she couldn't find anywhere else — styles that felt genuinely enduring, made to be worn season after season.
From scarves to accessories and home decor, the work grew steadily. She designed new styles each year for boutiques around the world, and for larger companies like Anthropologie.
Every individual piece — hand-knit and crocheted — passes through her hands.
"I started designing pieces I couldn't find anywhere else — styles that felt timeless and that I could wear year after year."
We believe it's in
our hands.
We focus exclusively on renewable, sustainable, and biodegradable fibers. Every skein of yarn is dyed using low-impact dye certified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 — an international eco-friendly certification.
Creating in small batches means we make only what's needed. Less waste, more intention. We pair this with recyclable and biodegradable packaging to keep our footprint as light as possible. Join us in supporting slow fashion.
Sourced from the
Andean Highlands.
Our wool is sourced from the Andean highlands of Peru, where animals are cared for by local family farms with a genuine commitment to the land and their herds.
We work closely with our team of artisan knitters — using sustainable materials and thoughtful processes to develop a new kind of luxury. One that focuses on craftsmanship over convenience.
Each piece is knit by hand, either in Boston by Deanna, or in Peru by our amazing team of women. Our yarns are custom-made to our specifications, using the finest quality merino wool to produce modern classics designed to last.
Our Values.
No factories, no shortcuts. Every piece is knit by hand — by Deanna in Boston, or by our team of artisan knitters in Peru. Limited quantities, genuine craftsmanship in every stitch.
We use only renewable, biodegradable natural fibers from suppliers who share our values. Yarn dyed with low-impact, Oeko-Tex certified processes.
Archive Knitwear is built on passion, precision, and purpose — female founded, Boston-based, and crafted in small batches by a close-knit team of women.
