WOOL KNITWEAR CARE GUIDE

Caring for wool doesn’t have to be hard. Learn how to wash and preserve the longevity of your knitwear.

WASHING YOUR GARMENTS

Due to its natural characteristics, Wool is naturally stain and odor resistant. If your garment needs to be washed, hand washing is recommended.
Use mild detergent, wool wash, or just cool water. Fill a sink with warm water and fully submerge your item, letting it soak for 20 minutes. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing your item together. After washing, lay your garment flat on a towel, making sure not to squeeze or wring your garment. Roll your item in a towel to squeeze out water, then leave to dry flat.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR KNITWEAR PILLS?

Pilling is a natural process caused by friction, where shorter fibers migrate to the surface and create small balls of fiber. These pills can easily be removed by using a wool comb or fabric shaver. Brush in the same direction of the knitting to avoid damage to the fibers. Pilling is a natural characteristic of wool and should not be considered as imperfections, rather the sign of a well loved piece in your wardrobe. ☺

STORING YOUR KNITWEAR

To avoid sweaters being stretched out, It's important not to hang your wool knitwear. Fold and store in a drawer, dust bag, or storage box.
To keep moths away, add a few cedar balls in the drawer.
